Founding partners
Fund the layer everything else depends on.
Every grant rests on infrastructure most funders never see: the strategy, financial systems, data administration, and governance that let good work last. Hypha Foundation exists to fund and deliver that backbone. We're inviting a small group of founding partners to help us build it.
Start a conversationWhere founding support goes first
Two places to start.
Landscape analysis
An in-depth look at the capacity gaps facing mission-driven organizations, so Hypha's work, and yours, is aimed where it will matter most.
Capacity support for your portfolio
Subsidized strategy, operations, evaluation, and data support for the organizations you already fund, so your grants go further and your grantees can build for the long term.
We are seeking to be the most foundational of foundations.
What founding partners make possible
Four core activities.
Subsidized and pro bono capacity-building
For under-resourced nonprofits: strategy, operations, evaluation, and the discovery work that most funders won't pay for.
Accessible fiscal sponsorship and regranting
For organizations doing values-aligned work that certain funders can't directly support because of their governance constraints.
Shared tools and frameworks
Developed using pressure-tested, evidence-based methodologies, making expertise accessible beyond consulting engagements.
Incubation
For early-stage founders who are still figuring out whether their idea should be a nonprofit or a for-profit, with a bridge to incorporation support once an informed decision is made.
Find your fit
Not sure where you fit?
Tell us what you fund: your focus areas, the region you serve, and the kinds of organizations you support. We'll suggest where Hypha's work lines up.
How giving works
Hypha Foundation is a Texas nonprofit corporation. We will apply for 501(c)(3) status before the end of 2026. While that application is pending, gifts will be made through a fiscal sponsor. Reach out and we'll walk you through the options.
Let's build it together.
If you fund mission-driven organizations and know what the back office is worth, we'd like to talk.
